Immersive 360-Degree Before-and-After Images

If you’ve been following our journey to make stand out, custom virtual tours, you have already seen how we can transform a location from day to night at the click of a button or have the scene magically transform to sunset even as the user is looking around.

Resizable Split Screen View – Ideal for Before and After

Today, we’re showing off a brand new way of showing the same location at two different points in time. Instead of shifting the entire scene, we are now able to use a split screen to view both stages at the same time in a split screen view. This is a really great way to show off “before and after” for a location. We use the example here of a home under construction, but this could easily be used to wow potential customer in landscaping, real estate staging, kitchen renovations, and so on. As the user moves around, the scene transforms from one stage to the next almost like magic.

Try it out for yourself in the example below – this could easily be embedded in your website or shared on social media.

Twin View – Direct Comparisons

A slight variation on this is when, instead of emphasizing the transformation, we want the user to be able to compare two things side by side in 360 degrees. Instead of split screen, where we have a continuous view split in half as above, we can also offer twin view. In twin view, both left and right are looking at the same part of the scene. So instead of seeing the stairs on the left and the fridge and kitchen on the right in the previous example, both views would be of the stairs under construction and completed. Here’s an example of Twin View that we use to show some of the different quality options available for our customers:

Getting Started

One of the great things about our virtual tour platform is that we can do some amazing things in our virtual tours. If you have a project that you think would benefit from a split screen or twin view, we are happy to work with you to figure out how best to make your vision a (virtual) reality. Send us a message on our contact page and we will get back to you promptly!

Anikio Chosen to Create Virtual Tour for 2021 Saskatoon Home Lottery Home

We’re really excited to announce that Anikio was chosen to create the virtual tour for the Saskatoon Hospital Home Lottery showhome in Greenbryre! The home, at 4,500 sqft and $2.5 million dollars, is stunning and we are very honoured to have been chosen to capture this home, its grand architecture, and intricate interior design. While it’s too early to let you in on some of the really unique features of the tour we’ll be creating, I think it’s safe to share that we will be shooting almost 150 360-degree panoramas and expect that this will take a week or so of time to complete from start to finish.  Virtual tours are more important than ever during the second wave of COVID-19, and while nothing beats an in-person viewing, it is important that we do our best to make online viewings as close as possible to the real thing.  This virtual tour is an ambitious undertaking to mirror the ambition in the home itself and we really can’t wait to get started!

You Need More Video Content!

These days it’s more important than ever to have video content. Every person with a marketing background of any kind that I talk to says that. I think one of them even had it tattooed somewhere. While I’m a very visual person and definitely understand the importance, I’m not great at taking video of myself. Worse, I have perfectionist tendencies. So even when I DO take some video of day-to-day or clips showing what sort of work we do with our customers, it sits in my ‘not quite done’ pile just long enough to be irrelevant or out-of-date.

The solution? Have someone else that knows what they’re doing (and isn’t obsessive like I am) do it! I met up with Carter Johnson, a local cinematography student at the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon, and we filmed a few different video clips that I’m hoping will help explain a bit more about who we are at Anikio, what we do, and why we do it. I’m looking forward to seeing the end results!

Meeting with REIGS – Real Estate Investors Group of Saskatchewan

Back in the spring, Anikio was invited to give a presentation for a local group of landlords, property managers, and investors called REIGS – Real Estate Investment Group of Saskatchewan. It was great to be able to speak to a lot of experts in the industry and share a bit not only about what Anikio is doing, but more generally what we all can do to improve the state of the rental marketplace in this city and province. More importantly, it was great to meet such a friendly, welcoming, and genuine people. There were about 40 people in attendance (which I’m told is a smaller meeting for them) but there still wasn’t anywhere near enough time to really get to talk with everyone that I wanted to (i.e. everyone).

As for the presentation itself, I talked a bit about the headaches that landlords have in renting their property and the issues facing tenants and why I created Anikio to try to actually do something to remove or at least reduce those pain points. I also spoke a fair amount on the importance of good visuals and why it’s so important for tenants to be able to not only understand the space before arriving for a viewing, but also to feel a connection with the place, to be able to picture it as a home and feel something beyond looking at yet another empty room.

After our presentation was another presentation… about giving good presentations. It was, as you might expect, engaging and interesting and I’m for the most part glad that I went first and didn’t have to think afterwards about what “rules” I’d broken in my own presentation! Then the group stayed around and mingled and I had a chance to chat with some really great people that I hadn’t spoken with before the meeting. All in all, I not only feel that the presentation was successful at carrying our message (and hope we’ll be seeing more property on the site as a result) but also am excited to start going to these meetings monthly to spend more time in good company (And hopefully learn a thing or two while I’m at it).

I’m not sure that it’s my place to do so, but if you ARE a landlord or property manager, I’d certainly encourage you to come out and attend one of these events. Stay tuned on our Facebook page for the next REIGS event and please come and introduce yourself!
